Swansea Festival of Music and Arts

We would like to invite you to join us – the Friends of the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts. We need and value your support.

The Friends (initially known as the Patrons’ Association) were formed in 1973 with the aim to support the Swansea Festival of Music & the Arts.

How do we do it?

Every year we make a substantial financial contribution towards the cost of a major concert given by a visiting international orchestra We arrange pre-concert talks and lectures on new or rarely performed works- often given by the composers.

We hold post-concert receptions for Friends and the musicians of visiting orchestras and ensembles. We organise annual fund-raising events.

If funds allow we support smaller musical events in the city held during the year, especially the activities for young musicians.

So far we have been able to distribute in excess of £120.000

How will you benefit from your membership?

As a Friend you will be invited to the Launch of the Festival and the John Fussell Award for Young Musicians’ Competition. You receive the Diary of Events (festival programme) and enjoy advance booking facilities of tickets before the general public.

You receive a discount on the festival programme You have the opportunity of meeting the musicians and socialising with Friends at our receptions.

You will have the satisfaction of making a contribution to maintaining the quality and high standard of music making of the Swansea Festival.

The annual subscription (due on 1st January) is £10 for single and £15 for 2 members at the same address.
